Itinerary
Day 1 :
IXB Airport/ NJP Rlwy Station - Phuntsholing
On arrival at NJP / Bagdogra Airport you will be received by the representative from Trip Tuners, who will assist you to board your vehicle to Phuntsholing. The drive is through doors, land of breath taking beauty, sloping tea gardens and spectacular view. Upon arrival proceed for check in at hotel. In the evening you can take stroll around the town/shopping.
Phuntsholing is a border town in southern Bhutan, which lies just opposite to the Indian town of Jaigaon. Phuntsholing is uniquely more urban than other Bhutanese towns, having absorbed the neighboring culture, but distinctly far more quiet and orderly than its neighbor. This rapidly growing town is Bhutan’s main commercial centre.

Day 2 :
Phuntsholing – Thimphu - 147 Kms
After breakfast and doing away with all the immigration formalities proceed towards Thimphu (about 2350m/ 168kms / 5hrs). En-route experience the breath taking view of Himalayan peaks also witness the confluence of rivers the Wang Chu and the Paro Chu. Upon arrival proceed for check in at hotel. The evening is free for leisure and shopping.

Day 3 :
Thimphu
After breakfast full day Thimphu Sightseeing, this includes visit to the following places:
National Textile Museum which is a good place to see the art of traditional weaving being kept alive and preserved through exhibition and has a good collection of old textiles which are rich in colors and designs.
Folk Heritage Museum which provides visitors and tourists with fascinating insights into the Bhutanese material culture and way of life
School of Traditional Painting of Arts and Crafts where students undertake a six-year course on the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan.
Memorial Chorten constructed in memory of late his Majesty the 3rd Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuck "the father of modern Bhutan". It was completed in 1974 after his untimely death, it serves both as a memorial to the Late King and as a monument to peace.
Takin Preserve, which houses the national animal the Takin. This is an extremely rare member of the goat family. Found in herds in the very high altitudes. They live on a diet of grass and bamboo. It can weigh as much as 550 pounds.
Handicrafts Emporium where craftsmen and artisans from across the country display and sell their handicrafts. Here you can buy hand-woven textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelry, interesting items made from local materials etc…
Centenary Farmers’ Market (open from Fri-Sun only): Most of the Thimphu’s population and many valley dwellers converge on the bustling weekend market, held by the side of Wangchu River. A wide range of foodstuffs and local arts and crafts are sold at the market, which runs from Friday afternoon till Sunday evening. A visit to the market provides great photo opportunities, as well as the chance to mingle with local people and perhaps buy souvenirs.
Tashichhoe Dzong, a fortress of the glorious religion. It was built in 1641 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and was reconstructed into present structure by the late King, His majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck in the year 1962-1969. It houses the secretariat building, the throne room and the office of the king, and the central monk body.
Kuenselphodrang where the Bhutan’s largest Buddha statue is perched on the hillock overlooking the entire Thimphu valley below and the view from there is magnificent. From there you will see a breath taking view of whole Thimphu city beautifully placed in between lush green valleys. Take lots of pictures it's beautiful.

Day 4 :
Thimphu – Paro - 51 Kms
After breakfast head towards Paro valley, en-route visit Simtokha Dzong. It is one of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan, built in the year of 1629, by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. The Dzong houses countless statues and paintings of various Buddha’s, deities and religious figures including the Eight Manifestations of Guru Rimpochhe, Jampelyang the Bodhisattava of Wisdom, Shakya Gyalpo the Buddha of Compassion and many more, all carved and painted in exquisite detail.
And visit the following places in Paro:
National Museum: Ta Dzong (watchtower), which is housed inside the revamped circular Ta-Dzong, an ancient watchtower above the Paro Dzong. The original building was constructed in 1656, and was used as a watchtower to protect the Dzong from intruders, but the building was converted into a museum in 1968. And as of now it holds a fascinating collection of art, relics, religious thangkha paintings, Bhutan’s exquisite postage stamps, coins and handicrafts, together with a small natural history collection.
Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), Rinpung Dzong which means the ‘fortress of a heap of jewels’. Built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel, the Dzong stands on a hill above Paro Township. It is linked by the traditional cantilever bridge called the Nemi Zam over the Paro River. Once inside the Dzong, you can visit the temples inside the Dzong. It is also the administrative seat of the district of Paro. And later if time permit, visit up to the Drukgyel Dzong, The Dzong was built on the summit of a rocky hill that rises steeply on three sides. The Dzong was built to guard the approach to Paro Valley from Tibet and is only accessible from one side, which is defended by three prominent towers.
In the evening you can stroll around Paro town and you may visit local Bhutanese handicraft stores.

Day 5 :
Paro
After breakfast hike up to Taktsang Monastery, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’, the walk up to the viewpoint will take about 2 hrs, and from there you will enjoy a spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of the cliff. Stop for refreshment at the View Point Cafeteria. Then walk further up to the monastery which will take about 1 hour. It is said that in the 8th century Guru Rimpochhe flew on the back of a tigress from eastern Bhutan to this place and meditated in a cave here for 3 months. The principal Lhakhang (monastery) of the present monastic complex dates from 1692. Taktsang was damaged severely by fire in 1998 but has now been fully restored to its former glory. While returning, on the way visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo.

Day 6 :
Paro – Phuntsholing - 146 Kms
After breakfast at hotel drive back to Phuntsholing. En-route stop at Chhuzom, the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers, drive further through Chapcha and later take glimpse of famous Chukha Dam. Upon arrival proceed for check in at hotel. The evening is free for leisure and shopping.

Day 7 :
Departure (onward destinations)
Today is the time we bid farewell to our beloved guests. In the morning after breakfast your tour guide from Trip Tuners will escort you either to NJP/Bagdogra Airport for your onward destinations.
